Feeling better

So I'm feeling a little better, physically and mentally. I still have a bad cough and it's still keeping me up at night, but the fever is gone, which is wonderful. What a relief. Now I just need to get my voice back, although it's a lot better than it was.

And mentally speaking, I'm feeling a little better as well. I'm still pretty sad, but at least I am not terribly angry and distraught. I felt the dark cloud lift, for the most part, when I started a new cycle on Thursday. I usually have a hard time the last couple days of a cycle, but this time the dark period was definitely extended. I wonder if something is up with my hormones.

I'm also wondering about something else strange that has been happening in recent months. Since July, I have been having extremely light periods. It's been lasting only two days (in which I chart, at the most, M), with maybe two days of VL or spotting tacked on at the end. That's very weird for me.

I've googled it and found some sites that say it doesn't mean anything, while others say it could be poor lining, meaning poor estrogen, or even your thyroid. I never thought to ask my doctor about it until now.

Speaking of that, I am really looking forward to my appointment with Dr. S next year. It's kind of funny to think that the light at the end of the tunnel for me right now is another doctor's appointment. I never would've guessed that starting over with a new doctor would be more hopeful than adoption! Oh well, we never quite know what God has in store for us. At least I have something to look forward to.

I'm also looking forward to learning more about my potentially hostile mucus this cycle, or at least being able to rule that out. Ryan's SA is tomorrow morning. Anyone know how long it usually takes to get those results? If it's normal, I guess we'll begin looking into my end of it, although I really have no idea what we'll do. My doctor seems to think there are tests (antibody tests, she might have said) that we can do. I would love to be able to do them all as soon as possible. I hope we can get the ball rolling on those as soon as Ryan's SA results come back.

Well I'm off to the store - my first trip outside the house in a week! How exciting!

  2. GLAD you are feeling a bit better. SA results should be back to you in typically a week. Not sure why so long since they obviously have to run the tests immediately; but I guess just the typing it up and getting it in your patient file takes some time. Good luck!

  4. I am so glad you are feeling better in so many ways and how something good to look foward to with the new doctor.
My period flow has changed dramatically since my surgery and even more so lately. I don't have real H days for the most part and when I do, it is nothing like I experienced before getting rid of all the diseases in my body. I was hoping that it was normal. I pray that is the case, but my red stickers seem to last for 6-8 days. Sorry I can't tell you what this could mean.

  5. I am so glad you are starting to feel better. I was worried about you! I used to have lighter periods but the cycle I got pg, I actually had a VH and 2 H days. I wonder if it was from using the supplements from my naturopath or increasing the omega 3's from 2 to 4 a day. We got our SFA results in 24 hours.

  6. We just did the SA last week. We did the test on Tuesday morning and got the results Friday morning. My husband's count is very low :( Add it to the list, right?!

  8. I'm so glad that you're feeling better. Being cooped up for that long is so hard, especially when you're not feeling 100%.

    Hugs and prayers to you!

  11. I'm so glad you're feeling better. Hopefully they'll have the SA result back to you on Friday since that gives them all week to get everything sorted out.

It sounds like with the combination of the crazy cycle and the amount of sadness that maybe it was at least partly hormonal. I hope everything goes better this cycle. Definitely at least mention the concern about the short & lightness of your periods to your dr, at minimum they can alleviate your concern.

I hope you enjoy your day out and about:)
Also, it took us about 4 days to get the SA results. But I called them and asked them for the results even though they said it would take a week.

  14. glad you are on the mend! My husband had two appointments with the urologist. At the first one they talked and he did a quick exam. Then he went back the next day to give him the sample and got the SA results basically immediately. He and the doctor both looked in the microscope. He said it was really fun to see all the little swimmers. (I wish I had gone to that appointment!) I am not sure when he got the written results -- maybe those took a little longer.

  16. Sew - Sorry, I deleted the post. But I didn't say anything special in it. My progesterone was called "low" by my doctor. It was 6.4 on peak +12. I didn't think that sounded too low for peak +12, but what do I know!
