It's a beautiful Sunday, my husband just left for work, I'm doing laundry, and I've got some adoption paperwork to tackle. That's my day in a nutshell. Oh, and go Bills!
We're leaving either late tonight or early tomorrow morning for my in-laws' and I'm looking forward to it. They live three hours away and we'll be there for just a couple days.
So far I haven't ovulated, which I say because my temperature hasn't risen. Today is cycle day 15 so hopefully we're getting close, although I've still had less mucus than normal (the quality is now great, but the quantity is a little iffy - once or twice a day. Is that enough?).
Interestingly enough, my temperature is lower than normal for the first time - usually it's 97.9, but this month it's been 97.6. Does that mean anything? I figure change is good, since whatever my body was doing before sure wasn't working!
Speaking of what my body is doing, I read all about reproduction yesterday. It's been two years since we started with PPVI, so that is the last time we got the tutorial. I hadn't thought about it at all the last year or so because I knew my body wasn't doing the right thing anyways. But now that it apparently is, I wanted to read up on it again. And oh my goodness! How does anyone get pregnant? So much has to go right for everything to work! I also can't understand how anyone can be knowledgable about reproduction - or anything having to do with the body for that matter - and not believe in God. It's just so miraculous, and it seems ludicrous to think all this intricate stuff just started happening. So anyways, I understand how everything works now, at least on a very basic level.
I did start to get a tad bit sad today at Mass, but I nipped it in the bud. I have nothing to be sad about. My chances are good and there are a lot of people much worse off than me. I am blessed, and I need to remind myself of this more.
On a completely unrelated topic, we are in the market for a vacuum. We tend to go through vacuums like toilet paper, so I'm looking for advice. Anyone have a good, reliable one that's lasted them more than a couple of years? Ours usually break around 10 months, or at least just stops picking up crap, and so I guess that's no different than breaking. We're tired of it. We hope to spend less than $200, and we've looked at Consum.er Re.ports and have a couple in mind, but I would appreciate any advice if you have any!
Have a great Sunday, and I'll leave you with this prayer to the Infant of Prague:
O Dear sweet Infant Jesus, I offer You my will, that You strengthen it, my mind that You inspire it; my memory that You fill it, my wishes and desires, that You cleanse them; I sacrifice to You my intentions that You guide them, all my inner and outer activities, that You make them sacred. All I am and all I have is Yours. Your love for me is my hope and trust. Hear me and grant that I may never leave you. Amen

Beautiful Sunday

We are having a beautiful Sunday as well. I had a moment of sadness at mass today as well, seeing that we were surrounded by babies. However, I quickly began praying to St Michael the Archangel to keep those thoughts away from me, and to help me focus on the hopes that my records are being reviewed by PPVI as we speak!
ReplyDeleteAs far as a vacuum, we received a Dyson as a wedding gift, and I must say it is pretty awesome. They are pretty expensive, but I think, in the long run, it is worth the money because they hold up.
i ask myself all the time how women get pregnant!
ReplyDeletewe sat behind an older couple in our congregation that adopted a little boy a few years ago. i don't know if i should take that as a sign, but they usually sit on the other side of the church.
as for vacuums my mom gave me a dirt devil when i first moved out and it worked for about five years. we have a cheapo shark vacuum right now, but since we hired a cleaning lady we don't do a lot of vacuuming. i'd love a dyson, but we don't have a lot of carpets so i don't think that it's worth the investment.
I totally agree with you on the issue of reproduction (ok... the song from Greese just popped in my head.. lol)... God really used my IUI cycle to teach me the important lesson that ONLY HE can create life... if you are interested in my post about this you can find it here --> http://mermay.blogspot.com/2008/04/8-days-past-iui-and-peace.html
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!! Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you to encourage me!
I love red! And yes you will need a lot of primer, but it will be so worth it! I am definately thinking of painting....My excuse is once the weather is cooler but considering I am in the South it could be January by that time!! I have had the same type of mucus you have had this month, only once or twice a day. I don't know if it is "good" or not. I would assume that its fine considering some months I notice a ton. But this if my first Creighton month. And with it being my first month it is so much easier to see when you are fertile with Creighton than with the NFP/Billings etc. It is amazing! I can't stop self diagnosing myself because the Creighton book has so many "what's wrong with me" possibilities! The self diagnosing is endless!! I swear is there anything else that i could possibly get excited over?? Enjoy you laundry!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm... well I can't vouch for this one in the long term, but we just purchased our new vacuum about three weeks ago and so far I LOVE it! It's a Bissell Lift-Off revolution especially for Pet Hair. I love it for so many reasons, but mainly because you can easily remove the bagless filter thing and dump it after every couple of vacuums (no worries about which kind of bag to buy --ever!), and because you can remove the body of the vacuum (which weighs only about 5 lbs. or so) and vacuum any surface of your house, like stairs or ceilings or corners or whatever and then it easily snaps back into place and you are back to vacuuming traditional style.
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend going to the stores and trying them out. That's what I did! And I ended up buying mine at Kohl's. It was $145 after the discount I got from opening up a credit card.
I almost posted about our new beloved vacuum but I must have forgotten... so I am glad you asked!
By the way, I also just emailed you!!!
Hey it's me again --
ReplyDeletehere's the website to my vacuum!
http://www.bissell.com/Products/c/uprightvacuum/p/37604/product.aspx
We have the same vaccum as Lifehopes - and I use it EVERY SINGLE DAY. We have a long haired cat and it works GREAT for getting up pet hair. Plus the canister comes off and it's easy to do stairs.
ReplyDeleteWell my first piece of advice for you would be to stop vacuuming crap. That's probably what's causing your vacuum break-downs. :P
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to go with the majority here and say that my Dyson ROCKS. We have the "Animal" which is especially for the pet hair... it is unbelievable how much that thing can suck up that you can't even see on your rug beforehand!
They are pretty pricey, but I found one at an online store that sells factory reconditioned models- - which means they passed all inspections for working exactly the same, but there may be some little scratch on the surface or other cosmetic detail. (I haven't found whatever's wrong with mine!) It was $200 less buying the factory re-conditioned.
Anyway, yeah, reproducing is completely miraculous. Thinking about it this past week is kinda what lead me to write about the complete disconnect between TTC (with IF) and pro-choice.
I'm going to go against the tide here. :) We've had a Eureka boss for almost 5 years, and I looove it! It was a best buy on Consumer Reports when we got it.
ReplyDeletewe have a dyson as well and I really really like it and would recommend it. have fun at the in-laws.
ReplyDeleteBeen following you for a few weeks, you look AMAZING! I'm so happy for you that your body is working right now! Good luck with everything
