Everything's fine! Thank God. And thanks for all your supportive comments and prayers!
The pain is essentially unexplained, which means it's most likely due to my expanding uterus possibly combined with adhesions, gas, or both. The tech even checked my kidneys (which she said she was doing off-the-record, because she used to check them where she used to work and knows pregnancy can put a strain on them) and they were fine too. It was so nice that she did that because if she couldn't check, I'm sure it would have been in the back of my mind whether that was the cause of the pain. Now I know for sure it isn't.
She couldn't see my ovaries because my uterus was too large (and let's not forget u/s techs can't find my ovaries when I'm NOT pregnant!), but she said she looked in the region and if there was anything large on them she would've seen that. That was good enough for me.
She's so sweet, and funny. I could hear her, kind of under her breath, saying, "Look at that spleen. Beautiful!...Ah! What a gorgeous gallbladder!" Haha.. she must really love her job!
I actually had pain while lying on the table and tried to ignore it so I could focus on my baby on the ultrasound screen. He looked so big! So much more formed than last time (which, of course, he is!). He weighs 2 1/2 lbs. and is measuring at 27 weeks, 4 days. Right on track!
He's still a boy, that's for sure :) And she also showed us hair on the back of his head. Isn't that wild?!
We also learned he is still breech, 'frank breech' actually, where his legs are flexed up by his head. His arms are too, which is also where they were at 20 weeks. There's a ton of time for him to shift around, though.
I love seeing him!! It's still so unbelievable to me and will NEVER get old.
So we're thankful this evening that everything's normal, baby boy is healthy, and I also don't have gestational diabetes (more great news!). I can now deal with the pain so much better knowing it's nothing serious (I can try a heating pad and/or Tylenol when it's bad). It's actually flaring up now, so I'm going to give that a try.
I'll leave you with a shot of Baby Boy's foot. I just cannot wait til I can smooch those toes!!

he he that ultrasound tech makes me laugh out loud with her under the breath anatomical compliments! That's great! But how refreshing to hear a medical expert complimenting you on your innards!! ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI am THRILLED to hear its nothing ... perhaps with all the growth and movement that will happen over the next few weeks it will get all worked out. If its gas, would walking help? I am sure you have already tried that! At least there's tylenol!!!
Oh and wonder what color that hair will be!!! I am guessing BLONDE!!!
I am so relieved and happy for you!
ReplyDeleteI was always so conservative about taking Tylenol. But, sometimes you just have to do it. It really does give relief.
My baby was breech but she turned around at the end, just fine.
So, glad you got to sneak a peek. And, I am jealous about your perfect gallbladder. Mine isn't so great! So happy, so, so happy for you.
Wonderful news! Praise God!
ReplyDeleteGood knews!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Thanks for sharing such GREAT news!
ReplyDeleteGreat great news! love the foot!
ReplyDeleteYay for good news! You definitely have some time for your little one to turn but you might want to have these links just in case... http://www.spinningbabies.com/ and http://www.worldchiropracticalliance.org/tcj/2001/aug/aug2001l.htm
ReplyDeleteYou might want to find a Webster certified chiropractor sooner rather than later. I had chiropractic care (with Websters) throughout my pregnancy with Maggs and it made such a difference each time I went. It helped the R side pain and at the end I was doing better than the girls I knew in their early 20's.
So glad everything is okay! What a cute foot!
ReplyDeletePraise God and he's so cute!!!! I love the ultrasound tech's comments! :)
ReplyDeleteI second the advice on the Webster technique. My nephew was breech and that enabled him to move. Also, I had a low placenta and the Webster was used on me and it moved up preventing a C- section. Don't know what but there's something to it. Babies' little feet are so cute. I was just kissing on Olivia's before I read your post.:)
ReplyDeleteI figured everything was fine, but didn't comment because what does my barren butt really know about worry during pregnancy? Lol, I am sure my word would have been no consolation to you ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad to know all is well still. It's always a good idea to check out a preggo's kidneys if they're having side/flank pain. Technically it is a separate study, which is why she had to do it "off record," but since it's the same transducer and frequency sound wave, it's so easy to just take a peak.
That is one handsome foot, by the way!
Praise God! I'm so glad you checked out ok and that baby is growing on schedule. And yes, he'll turn most likely. As you may see from my post today, my boy turned between 30 weeks and 36 weeks. Somewhere in there. You're pregnancy is FLYING by, at least for me!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that it looks like nothing and everything is looking good.
ReplyDeleteGlad all is well.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! Sounds like you had a great experience, which is so nice. I am still figuring out how you balance all those babies (ok, only 2, but it feels like tons) as I am trying to do it myself...not so easy all the time:).
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad everything is okay. And look at those little toes! Amazing stuff :)
ReplyDeleteSo happy all is well, and I just LOVE his little foot!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief!!! PTL!!!
ReplyDeleteMy son had most of his hair on the back of his head (down by his neck) too! It was so funny to see on ultrasound!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear all is well, and I do hope your comfort comes soon.
That foot pic is just so perfect and precious, too!
Hugs,
Heather
Yay! Great news:) Love that little foot!
ReplyDeleteI've had a random but strong pain in my upper abdomen most of the pregnancy but getting worse as the baby has gotten bigger. My doctor was worried about my gallbladder, but an u/s showed no obvious problems like gallstones. Than the u/s tech showed me how close baby's feet are to my gallbladder--she's been kicking it! Quite a relief. Hate those scary pregnancy pains. I hope it all goes away for you as soon as the baby is born!
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad it's nothing :D
ReplyDeletewhew!
