For the past week or so, Clara has quieted down shortly after going down for her afternoon nap. This was quite a change, since for the past several months she has cried for up to 30 minutes before falling asleep.
So the other day, being a bit curious, I decided to check in on her. Was she really falling asleep right away, like a good little girl? I had my doubts.
I opened the door a crack, and this is what I found:
Imagine my shock! I thought I'd find my sweet baby fast asleep. Or, at the very least, lying awake, cooing quietly to herself. But no. Instead of napping, she was hanging from her mobile! And being very quiet at it, no less!
So like any good mother, I grabbed my phone and shot some video.
Of course, after documenting it, I marched in and, to her dismay, removed the mobile for good. Maybe I should have seen this coming, but it seems like just yesterday she was a tiny baby swaddled tightly in her big crib, with no hope of movement whatsoever, let alone reaching her mobile. They really do grow up so fast!
This just cracks us up. What a little stinker she is!

ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh, the cheeky little girl - and so quiet too. It is always such a relief when you check if the baby is asleep and they are sound asleep. Ida is not close to doing what Clara does yet, but it is still cute to 'catch' her awake and peering through the wooden slats of the cot with her eyes crinkled up in a big smile.

the reason why Bella will be swaddled until she is 12 months! Anyone know of a swaddling blanket that fits a 12 month old?
ReplyDeleteAs Bella is not even 4 months yet, I can't imagine her moving in her crib. She just started moving around on her back all over the floor, but every time I get the video camera, she stops. little stinker!

ReplyDeleteJulie, my son is 16 pounds or so and we use the Summer blanket. My husband had to sew "wings" onto it like the Miracle Blanket has, but it works great.
ReplyDeleteHe busts out of it occasionally still (he's long), but he's a brute. A normal kid would do fine, I think. It's 14-22 pounds.
AUGH! Why can't I see this picture? I've closed the window and refreshed it about a hundred and two times!!! SHOOT! Sounds hilarious!!!
