  3. Ok, seriously, how did you get all that done in one week, with a BRAND new baby, a toddler, and after just giving birth?! I think you are my new hero!! After my little girl is born, I plan to hole up and stay in my pj's for weeks - lol! In fact, I STILL do that with Jax! You are just a gorgeous family, and your children are so beautiful. I can't wait to hear more about how you all are doing!

  4. Faith - Do not let the Christmas pic fool you! This has been one of the toughest weeks of my life. A friend came over to take that photo and it was a minor miracle pulling it off (among the things you can't see here - my pants are unzipped and the baby screamed the whole time). I'm currently sitting unshowered in my pajamas and the babies just got dressed (neither by me). I'm basically what you'd call a mess :)

I've thought about you this week and my main advice is to have a third person that first (and preferably second) week. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when my mom leaves!

  17. Congratulations on the birth of sweet Luke. He is darling!! You are now mama to two little ones, just a year apart. It's a hard journey at times, but it is filled with moments so precious you will cry. I am one year ahead of you, and now my little ones (11 months apart) are the best of friends. I remember that survival mode lasted for quite some time so if there is anything I can do to encourage you on this journey, please just ask. You'll do great...one day at a time. Congratulations again! To God be all the glory for stories such as ours.

  19. Awww, I love Stacy's advice - I would definately take her up on that, she knows a thing or two about "surprise, you're going from zero babies to two less than a year apart!"

If you had to choose if this week this year or this week last year was tougher, I have a feeling you'd answer last year ;) So remember when you're in survival mode that what you are surviving is the fulfillment of your calling in life, and no longer the heavy cross of childlessness. Praise be to God!!
(Luke is getting cuter by the day!! Love those striped pants!)

  27. I found your blog awhile back, when my husband and I were dealing with IF and waiting to adopt. I would come back every once in a while when I needed a reminder that I wasn't the only person in the world to feel the way I felt. Being able to identify with you by reading your blog was such gift, and really helped me in some difficult times. Thank you for sharing your story so honestly. You give a real and truthful account of Catholic Infertility, and all that goes along with it - and that is to be truly admired.
I've been a stay at home mom (for a little over 14 months now) to our blessing of a daughter through the miracle of adoption. I come back to your blog much more often now, but I've never commented. I am so happy for you and your family. The Lord's abundant blessings are evident in your family Christmas photo. You and your family are so beautiful!

  28. Congratulations on your beautiful family! It's a lot of work and can be very tough at times, but as This_Cross_I_embrace said, it's a wonderful type of tough compared to what those of us who struggled with infertility went/are going through.

I have followed your story for a couple years now, and I couldn't be happier for you! Praise God!

P.S. Speaking of praising God, we are expecting baby #2 in July! So much for the doctor that told us only IVF would work. We are truly blessed. Praise God!

  32. I'm praying for you! Things might be a little rough when your Mom first goes home. But have great HOPE things will get more manageable with two sweet little ones soon.

  33. I was just smiling thinking how a year ago you had no babies for Christmas and this year you have two! God has such a sense of humor sometimes.
I know it must feel like a big adjustment right now but it will get easier...

  34. Just wanted to second your idea to let the laundry and cooking go next week. Even if you've got to buy extra underwear for everyone! These next few weeks are going to be super fun and super hard. There will be time to get back into your regular domestic routine far, far into the future! :-)

  35. I know I dont have any kids so I am not one to be giving advice but my best friends baby cried like that and they had to switcg his milk to something called smiliac allimentum, it is a different kind of milk. Just thought I would tell you that just in case. The milk is more expensive but it helped the baby from being umcomfortable. I am sorry that you are having a hard time. I have read your blog and I can see that you are a wonderful mother. They are noth lucky to have you as a mother. Thinks may be tought right now but cling to the Lord with all thats in you and in will make a way for you in every situation. The Lord has brought you sucha long way from over a year ago. God Bless you friend, Samanth
