Our baby girl!

ON OUR WAY!

Paperwork is signed! Driving to the nanny's house! Ahhhh! Praise God! We're going to meet her in just minutes!

Almost there...

We're in Louisiana! To say I have butterflies in my stomach is an understatement!

Did I mention it's our week to have a huge statue of Our Lady of Grace that is passed from family to family? We we brought her with us! She's packed in the trunk! Our Lady if Grace, pray for us!!

Is this really happening?

Less than three hours to go. I'm freaking out. Please, God, let it all go smoothly today!

I'm still sick and I'm trying to time my advil so that I feel good when we get there. We slept well last night. Got in around midnight (1 a.m. ET) and woke up at six. Now I really cannot wait to just have our baby girl with us at R's house. Then I might feel like I can really start to breathe again!

Of course, I also can't wait for the moment when we first lay our eyes on her. Ryan says he is going to take video of it, which I didn't like the idea of at first, but as long as he does it for only a brief moment I don't mind. It will be nice to have later. And you'll get to see it eventually too!

I don't know when I'll post again but hopefully when I do, it will be THE post! Please keep praying! We really appreciate it!

Getting closer

I figured out how to post pictures from an iPhone! I'm so excited, because that means I can post a picture tomorrow once she's ours! And like you need me to tell you, but that's the car seat. So exciting!

We're in Georgia, and have been for a while. About four-and-a-half hours and 302 miles left to go tonight.

Today has been spent on the phone once again and I love it! It's been wonderful updating all my friends and every time I talk about it, it seems a little more real! Poor Ryan has to hear the same conversation over and over, although when I asked if he was sick of it he said he could listen to me talk about it all day. How sweet is that? It's got to be better than listening to me cry and complain like he has done for the last five years.

So tomorrow we'll have three more hours to drive, we'll sign paperwork, then go to the nanny's to meet baby girl. That's when we'll hand over the money and she'll be ours! Sorry if I've already posted that. I've talked about it so many times that I'm not sure what I've told to who!

And good news - the check has made it to it's destination, or at least to the post office there. Our friend R will pick it up in the morning and drive it an hour to us. I am still blown away by the generosity of everyone!

On the road

Well we made it to Ryan's parents' house in NC this morning. We switched cars since we're taking their van, and loaded it up with everything we need for the trip. Ryan's mom had tons of stuff for us, including a car seat, preemie clothes, and a packed diaper bag! Thank goodness because I only bought diapers and then forgot them at home!

We are now on our way, still in NC, with 690 miles to go today. We're staying overnight in Mobile, Alabama, and then we'll have three hours to go tomorrow.

I was so excited this morning, but now I'm a little nervous. I'm just worried it's too good to be true and something could still go wrong. I guess that's to be expected. It's a rollercoaster ride, that's for sure!

Thank you all so much for your continued prayers. I wish I could respond to all your comments. I have a dialogue in my head with all of you as I'm reading them so I have to remind myself that I haven't talked to all of you! I wish I could. I also apologize for not thanking each of the donors personally yet, but I will. So please know I couldn't be more appreciative! I cry whenever I think about your generosity. I've never experienced anything like this in my life.

I could go on and on, but I don't like typing on the iPhone so I'll stop for now (I also can't upload pictures, but will try to do it tonight from our hotel). If you wouldn't mind, please pray for everything to go smoothly tomorrow and that we leave there with a baby girl.

Oh, and we do have a name for her and will announce it tomorrow once we pick her up!

PS - There's a car seat in the back seat! So crazy!

The pink and green numbers were paintings I did that we used as table numbers at our wedding. I'm going to use 1-10 in her room.

Alright, we're hitting the road! We'll go most of the way today and stay about three hours away. Then tomorrow we'll go the rest of the way and go straight to the lawyer's office, where we'll sign paperwork and then go meet the baby! We are so excited!!
